"Thanks to the opportunities provided to me through the Tsuga Community Commission, I am getting ready to finish Graduate School at Lewis and Clark to get my Master's in teaching. My time with the Camp Staff Coalition started as an avenue to explore teaching through my High School senior project where I was able to design my first set of lesson plans and gain teaching experience in the field at an early age. After four years as a Field Instructor during college, I now have an expansive portfolio and experience unmatched anywhere else. I was able to learn through a very hands on learning environment focused on communication and collaboration with incredible mentors. I didn't realize it at that time that my work with TCC would turn into scholarships at the undergraduate and gradate level. While continuing my education at Lewis and Clark, I look forward to working with my peers in the Camp Staff Coalition to provide other future teachers the experience that I had and to be a part of the inspiration that led me to where I am today."
~ Katie Wich

Thuc Vinh, a senior at Benson Polytechnic High School in Portland, Oregon, is following our model of professional development within the Camp Staff Coalition in dedicating school projects and service learning opportunities to benefit the organization. TCC believes in supporting young talent with professional development opportunities that students find are hard to come by. This is one of several projects where High School and College students from the Coalition have used the organization to apply their work for real resume' development. We get excited about involving the Camp Staff Coalition in projects during the off-season and are very proud Thuc and his work this year.
